Interactive Tables for Consumer Magazines - Help

We have introduced interactive tables to complement the 6 monthly Consumer Magazines Report allowing quick and easy analysis of the data. The tables contain various views of key information from the normal report.

How to access the tables?

All ABC members will have access to the new tables as will users of the ABC site who have a valid data subscription to ‘ABC Published Reports’. The tables will be available in the ‘Our Reports’ section of the website.

Video Guide

A video guide explaining the features of our interactive tables is available on YouTube

What products/data will be in the tables?

The interactive tables contain all the products that are in the Consumer Magazines Report and the data that was published at the time of the report. For the latest data for a product please view the certificate.

What’s so ‘interactive’ about the tables?

  • Sorting - quickly rank results by the data of your choice
  • Hiding/showing data – not interested in some data or need more information then you can choose to hide or show columns from the table
  • Re-arranging columns – allows you to group data the way you want it by dragging and dropping.
  • Searching & Filtering – quickly find a product, a market sector or media owner by typing part or all of their name.
  • Export for further analysis – once you have the data how you want it you can export it in spreadsheet format (CSV for Excel, Lotus, Google Docs etc) so that you can analyse or perform calculations on the data. This is particularly useful as is not possible to save your views online at this time. You may also view it in a print friendly format or copy to your clipboard ready for pasting into another program.

Will there be historical data available?

Just like the published report, there will be period on period and year on year comparisons available. Each table will be replaced with the next period’s data when released. Prior versions of the PDF and Excel reports will be available as usual in the published reports and report archive areas.

Will this be available for other sectors?

At the moment we are trialling this just with the consumer magazines sector, if popular and the demand is there we may expand it to other sectors.

Will I need any special software to use the tables?

The tables are accessed via your web browser like any other web page. The tables also work best on up to date browsers like IE9, Chrome, Safari and Firefox. You will need to have JavaScript enabled for interacting and Flash for certain export functions.
